Paul Curievici
Den britiske tenoren Paul Curievici er utdannet ved Guildhall School of Music and Drama, og debuterte ved Royal Opera House Covent Garden i 2013 som Jack Worthing i The Importance of Being Earnest. Recent engagements have included Candide (title role) Komische Oper Berlin, MELOT Tristan und Isolde, PIRELLI Sweeney Todd, RAUL The Exterminating Angel Royal Danish Opera Copenhagen, MORTIMER Lessons in Love and Violence (cancelled due to C19) Theater St Gallen, PERCY BYSSHE SHELLEY in Michael Wertmüller’s Didodati. Unendlich Theater Basel, FLUTE A Midsummer Night’s Dream and MELOT Opéra de Montpellier, and Les Enfants Terribles The Royal Ballet. Future plans include a house debut at English National Opera and a return to Royal Opera House, Covent Garden later this year.
Other engagements have included JACK The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny and GUIDOBALD Die Gezeichneten Oper Zürich, JACK Landestheater Salzburg, PEDRILLO Die Entführung aus dem Serail Grange Festival, DON CURZIO/DON BASILIO Le nozze di Figaro Scottish Opera, PAINTER in Olga Neuwirth’s American Lulu The Opera Group at the Young Vic, Bregenzer Festspiele and Edinburgh International Festival, HÉRISSON L’Etoile New Sussex Opera, 1st JEW Salome Northern Ireland Opera, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre National de Lyon and English National Opera, and DIONYSUS The Bassarids (cover) Opera di Roma. He made his debut with the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in performances of Gerald Barry’s The Importance of Being Earnest, and returned for EAMES The Virtues of Things, 2ND JEW Salome, MORTIMER Love and Violence (cover) and TITORELLI/ FLOGGER/STUDENT in Philip Glass’ The Trial (world premiere), which toured with Music Theatre Wales. He sang revivals of Gerald Barry’s The Importance of Being Earnest Barbican and Lincoln Center with the New York Philharmonic, made his debut with The Opera Group as SAM KAPLAN Street Scene, and repeated the role at Liceu Barcelona and Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris.
Additional past performances include STEPHEN in Huw Watkins’ In the Locked Room Music Theatre Wales and Scottish Opera, Henze’s song cycle Voices Barbican, EVANDRE Alceste, GIUSEPPE La Traviata, TRABUCCO La Forza del Destino and DON LUIGI Maria Padilla Chelsea Opera Group, as well as FLAVIO Norma Grange Park Opera.
