Simon Regourd

Simon Regourd joined the Norwegian National Ballet in 2020 after performing with the NNB 2 for a year and a half. 

He danced the role of Prince Siegfried in the 2nd act of Makarova’s Swan Lake, the male principal role in Balanchine’s Divertimento no. 15, one of three soloist couples in Andersen’s Holberg Suite, the lead flower couple and the Spanish couple in Boyadjiev’s Nutcracker as well as both the Lilac Fairy and the Gold Fairy in Spuck’s Sleeping Beauty. 

Regourd has also performed significant roles in Kylián’s Sleepless, Ek’s … and Brahms, Touret/Jensen’s Afternoon of a Faun, Makarova’s La Bayadère and Balanchine’s Symphony in C. 

Other repertoire includes Holme’s Swan Lake, Harvey’s Giselle, Naharin’s Secus, Scarlett’s Firebird, Pite’s Light of Passage, Ekman’s Cacti and A Swan Lake, Heise’s Dido and Aeneas, Smith’s Departures, Edmond’s Left from Write, Touret’s Wago, Cranko’s Onegin, Spuck’s Anna Karenina, and Balanchine’s Serenade and Theme and Variations. 
 
French, Regourd began dancing at the age of eight. He joined the VM Ballet School in Toulouse at the age of 13 and was accepted into the Royal Ballet School in London at the age of 16. Performance highlights before graduating include Page’s Larina Waltz, MacMillan’s Concerto, a cavalier in Aurora’s Wedding in Anthony Dowell's adaptation of Sleeping Beauty and Johann Sebastian Bach in Duato’s Multiplicity – Forms of Silence and Emptiness. He won gold during both the international dance competition in Biarritz in 2015 and the Chausson d’or competition in Paris in 2014.
