Julie Petanova
Julie Petanova joined the Norwegian National Ballet in the autumn of 2023, after two years with the Norwegian National Ballet 2. In spring 2023 she danced Espejord’s A part together, Hayakawa’s Limerence and León and Lightfoot’s Susto. While a student at the Royal Ballet School in London, she danced the leading role in such works as Bournonville’s Napoli, Stevenson’s Three Predules and Montero’s Pulse, as well as dancing the pas de deux in McNicols’ Sea Interludes. The title role in Peskova’s The Little Match Girl, the role of Dragonfly in Scarlett’s The Cunning Little Vixen and her role in Page’s Mephisto Waltz were created especially for her.
Czech Petanova (born in 2001) began dancing at the age of four, at the Piruetta ballet school in her hometown Prague. She later studied at the Prague Dance Conservatory for five years, before continuing her training at the Royal Ballet School in London. Petanova received the Ballet Association Award in 2020 and the Gold and Silver Wyre Drawers Award in 2021 for her efforts and progress during her training.
