Isabella Boyd
Isabella Boyd joined the Norwegian National Ballet in the autumn of 2024, after one year with the Norwegian National Ballet 2 (NNB2). During her time with NNB2, she danced in works as Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante and Lightfoot and León’s Step Lightly.
Boyd (f.2003) began her dance education when she was 12 years old at the Joffrey Ballet in her hometown Chicago, Illinois and then joined the youth company at the A&A Ballet, also in Chicago. She went on to The Royal Ballet School in London, where she took her Bachelor’s Degree in classical ballet. During her studies, she danced lead roles in Valentino Zucchetti's Simply So, choreographed for the Royal Ballet School in 2021. In 2022, Boyd danced the first solo in Raymonda's Act 3. also, for the Royal Ballet School.
During her time at the Royal Ballet, Boyd danced several major roles. Among larger productions were roles in The Nutcracker, as Willis in Giselle and as a swan in Swan Lake. She has also danced in Sleeping Beauty as a fairy at the A&A Ballet and in Wayne McGregor's PreSentient.
Boyd has won several awards. She was first place in the Youth America Grand Prix in Chicago in 2017, the Ballet Association Award from the Royal Ballet School in 2020 and the Gold and Silver Wyre Drawers Award from the Royal Ballet School in 2022.
