Sven Bjarne Les Lothe
Sven Bjarne Les Lothe joined the Norwegian National Ballet 2 in the autumn of 2019. He has since danced in La Bayadère, Spuck’s Anna Karenina, Boyadjiev’s The Nutcracker, Kylián’s Sleepless, Cranko's Onegin, Andersen’s Holberg Suite, Edmond’s Left from Write and Touret’s new piece Wagō. He has also danced Le Corsaire pas de deux.
Les Lothe (born in 1999) began studying at the Norwegian National Ballet School at the age of seven. This was followed by a year at the Royal Ballet School in London before moving to Dresden to study at the Palucca Hochschule für Tanz. While a student, he toured to Seoul and Leeds in such roles as Prince Desiree in ‘Vision pas de deux’ from Aaron S. Watkin’s Sleeping Beauty and danced a pas de deux from Forsythe’s New Suite as part of the Palucca school’s Meet the Artist programme. During a performance at the Semperoper opera house, he danced the chair dance in Naharin’s Minus 16 and one of the leading roles in Forsythe’s The Second Detail. He has also performed Yasuyuki Endo’s 3 in Passacaglia and Spring Suite and a duet was choreographed especially for him in the latter. Les Lothe choreographed and performed the piece Pax Vobiscum as part of his bachelor’s thesis project.
