Matthew Keller

Matthew Keller joined the Norwegian National Ballet 2 in 2019 and has since danced in La Bayadère, Spuck’s Anna Karenina, Kylián’s Sleepless, Andersen’s Holberg Suite, Edmond’s Left from Write and Øyen’s The Hamlet Complex Redux.

English Keller (born in 2000) has a background in gymnastics and began dancing at the age of eight. He started his education at the Royal Ballet School, then studied for 2.5 years at the Tring Park School for the Performing Arts before completing his studies by attending the Royal Ballet School for another three years. During his training, he danced in the Royal Ballet’s productions of Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, The Nutcracker, La Bayadère, Don Quixote and Romeo and Juliet. He has also performed parts created especially for him in such ballets as Untied, Undone by Ashley Page and Onwards by Jonathan Watkins.

He has won the Barbara Geoghegan Award and the David Norman Award, an award presented each year by the Royal Ballet to a graduating student who has demonstrated leadership and good citizenship. Apart from dancing, he is also interested in costume and clothing design, interior design and fashion.
