Sigurd Blystad

Sigurd Blystad joined the Norwegian National Ballet 2 (NNB 2) in autumn 2024, after completing his education in classical ballet at the Royal Ballet School. During his education he danced in The Royal Ballet's productions of Wright's The Nutcracker and MacMillan’s Manon.

Norwegian Blystad (b. 2005) comes from Oslo and started dancing at the Ballet School of the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet as a nine-year-old. At the age of 15 he moved to London for further education, and during his four years there, he danced in the school's productions of Petipa's Raymonda, Ashton's Swan Lake, Polley's Fast Blue, MacMillan's Four Seasons, Montero's Bold and Ashton's La Valse. A solo in Bond's Assemblage was created for him.

In 2022, he participated as a dancer during the celebration of Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee. The following year, he choreographed a piece for the Royal Ballet School's choreography competition together with his classmate and current NNB 2 colleague Jules Chastre. The piece was selected to be shown during the John Neumeier Jubilee Gala in Hamburg the same year.
