Matteo Lippi
Tenor Matteo Lippi was born in in 1984 in Genoa, studied with the mezzo-soprano Laura Bulian and in 2007 starts his collaboration with Teatro Alfa in Turin where he sung Herzog in A night in Venice, Falke in Die Fledermaus and the title role in Fra Diavolo.
In the following years he continued his training also taking part to several masterclasses. In 2011 he won a scholarship to attend CUBEC-Academy of Belcanto in Modena under the guidance of Mirella Freni, his current teacher.
In 2013 he won the competition Toti dal Monte and debuted as Rodolfo in La bohème at the Theaters of Treviso, Ferrara, Jesi and Fermo.
In 2014 two major new productions of La bohème, the first at the Teatro La Fenice for 10 performances, the second at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow.
Among his recent engagements, the debut as Alfredo in La traviata at La Fenice, the return at the Bolshoi again as Rodolfo in La bohème, role that he performs also at Teatro San Carlo in Naples, at the Terme di Caracalla for the Rome Opera Summer Season, in Brescia and Reggio Emilia, Athens and Cagliari. Matteo Lippi is again Alfredo at La Fenice, at Palazzo Pitti for the Florence Opera Summer Season and in Genova, and has made his debut in the Glyndebourne tour as Pinkerton in a new production of Madama Butterfly; he will be next Rodolfo at the Welsh National Opera in Cardiff, Dubai, at La Fenice and in Oslo, Ruggero in La rondine at the Holland park In London.
