Levente Páll

Bass

Levente Pall 

was born in Transylvania and grew up in Hungary. He studied viola and singing at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna, and went on to further singing studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater, Hamburg. As a violist he played in orchestras including the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. From 2010 to 2012 he was a member of Hamburg State Opera’s Opera Studio. He has since returned to the Hamburg State Opera in roles including Don Alfonso (Cosí fan tutte), Sprecher (Die Zauberflöte), Biterolf (Tannhäuser).  He was a member of the Theater St. Gallen 2014–16, where his roles included Osmin (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Prince Gremin (Evgeny Onegin), Oroveso (Norma) and Banco (Macbeth). 

He is currently a member of Munich’s Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, where he performed i.a. the role of Osmin, Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro), Leporello (Don Giovanni), Sparafucile (Rigoletto), Don Magnifico (La Cenerentola), Colline (La Bohéme), Gremin (Eugen Onegin), Sarastro (Die  Zauberflöte) and Don Pasquale (title role).  

He also appeared as King Heinrich (Lohengrin) at the Opéra national de Montpellier, First Soldier (Salome) at the Royal Opera House London, Don Fernando in Fidelio  with the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos in Lisbon and as Kothner (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg) at the Salzburger Osterfestspiele 2019. He made his debut at the Bregenzer Festspiele in 2021 as Sparafucile (Rigoletto) where he also sung the role of Fasolt (Das Rheingold), as well as Lo zio Bonzo (Madama Butterfly). He performed the role of Don Alfonso (Cosí fan tutte) at the Royal Opera House Copenhagen and among other roles Haraschta (The cunning little vixen) at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich. Mr. Páll also appeared recently as Priest/Badger (The cunning little vixen), Eremit (Der Freischütz), La Voce (Idomeneo) and Bass (Das Paradies und die Peri) at the Theater an der Wien. 

Páll’s concert appearances include Handel’s Susanna in Madrid and in the Golden Hall at Vienna’s Musikverein, Bach’s Mass in B Minor at the Vienna Musikverein, Beethoven’s Symphony No.9 at the Hungarian State Opera as well with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra and also Osmin in Mozart´s Zaide with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester at the Prinzregententheater Munich. 

Upcoming roles are i.a. Dulcamara (L’ elisir d’amore) and Sir John Falstaff (Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor) at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich, as well as Priest/Badger (The cunning little vixen) at the Norwegian National Opera Oslo.
