Caroline Wettergreen
One of the most exciting coloratura sopranos of her generation, praised by the press for her stratospheric high notes, Caroline Wettergreen’s 21/22 season includes her return to the Bayerische Staatsoper as Nightingale in Die Vogel, Königin der Nacht in Die Zauberflöte at the Staatsoper Berlin and Canadian Opera Company. Ms Wettergreen also debuts in the role of Oscar Un ballo in Maschera at the Royal Danish Opera, and returns to Norwegian National Opera & Ballet as Gilda in Rigoletto.
Future engagements include her debuts with Wiener Staatsoper, Paris Opera Bastille, and returns to the Bayerische Staatsoper.
Other engagements include Queen of the Night Die Zauberflote at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Bayerische Staatsoper as Blonde in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, and as Princess in the Snow Queen, Queen of the Night Die Zauberflote at the Glyndebourne Festival and Glyndebourne on Tour, Gretel Hansel and Gretel for Bayerische Staatsoper, Lucia Lucia di Lammermoor, Zerlina Don Giovanni, Annina in La traviata, Berta in Il barbiere di Siviglia, First Lady i Die Zauberflote, La Fee in Cendrillon with Glyndebourne on Tour and Komische Oper, and Johanna in Sweeney Todd at Bergen National Opera.
Caroline Wettergreen studied at The Norwegian Academy of Music, Norway and the Opera Academy in Copenhagen, Denmark. She made her professional debut at The Norwegian Opera & Ballet in her first year of studies in the role of Adelaide in Lulu directed by Stefan Herheim.
